A Conversation with Jaime Saavedra

The Latin American Caucus at HKS and the Harvard Association of Peruvian Students (HAPS) will share a close conversation with Jaime Saavedra, former Minister of Education of Peru and Senior Director of Education Global Practice at the World Bank. Isabel Guerrero who will moderate the conversation.

Mr. Saavedra is a Phd in Economics from Columbia University and bachelor’s degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica of Peru. Prior to his role as the Minister of Education of Peru he worked for 10 years in various managerial roles at the World Bank, including interim Vice-President of Poverty Reduction and Economics Management and Director of the Global Department of Poverty Reduction and Equity. He has served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Poverty Reduction at the World Bank and the Executive Director and Lead Researcher at GRADE, a prestigious Think Tank in Latin America. Mr. Saavedra has held various visiting teaching and consulting roles at Pontificia Universidad Católica, the University of Toronto, the Inter-American Development Bank, CEPAL, the United Nations, and the Ministries of Labor and Industry in Peru.
